Minister Bacar Mvoulana pointed out the difficulties faced annually by Comorian students regarding the conditions for obtaining scholarships provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Minister requested the Saudi ambassador to intervene with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom to find a quick solution to this technical issue, which has resulted in only 50 students registering so far, while 300 scholarships are being offered. For his part, the ambassador urged the establishment of a contact point in the Comoros to maintain direct communication with the cultural attache at the Saudi Embassy in Oman, who is also responsible for cultural affairs in neighboring countries and communicates directly with the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom. He also emphasized the importance of establishing a technical unit within the ministry to assist Comorian students in applying for scholarships online through the platform established by the Kingdom.
Moreover, the ambassador affirmed his commitment to fulfilling his diplomatic role with the Saudi authorities in coordination with the Comorian embassy in Riyadh to facilitate the needs of students wishing to study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this year. He also noted the importance of enhancing the Arabic language to facilitate the adaptation of Comorian students in Saudi universities.
Finally, the ambassador pointed out the difference in the academic calendars between the two countries, as scholarship applications in the Kingdom open between April and July, while the baccalaureate exam in the Comoros usually takes place at the end of this period.
